fa753a46c1 Remove code for ThinLTO from cg_gcc
It was just a dummy implementation to workarround the fact that thin
local lto is the default in rustc. By adding a thin_lto_supported thin
local lto can be automatically disabled for cg_gcc, removing the need
for this dummy implementation. This makes improvements to the LTO
handling on the cg_ssa side a lot easier.

Add a `documentation` remapping path scope for rustdoc usage

This PR adds a new remapping path scope for rustdoc usage: `documentation`, instead of rustdoc abusing the other scopes for it's usage.

Like remapping paths in rustdoc, this scope is unstable. (rustdoc doesn't even have yet an equivalent to [rustc `--remap-path-scope`](https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/rustc/remap-source-paths.html#--remap-path-scope)).

I also took the opportunity to add a bit of documentation in rustdoc book.

Add -Z large-data-threshold

This flag allows specifying the threshold size for placing static data in large data sections when using the medium code model on x86-64.

When using -Ccode-model=medium, data smaller than this threshold uses RIP-relative addressing (32-bit offsets), while larger data uses absolute 64-bit addressing. This allows the compiler to generate more efficient code for smaller data while still supporting data larger than 2GB.

This mirrors the -mlarge-data-threshold flag available in GCC and Clang. The default threshold is 65536 bytes (64KB) if not specified, matching LLVM's default behavior.

Stabilize `-Zremap-path-scope`

# Stabilization report of `--remap-path-scope`

## Summary

RFC 3127 trim-paths aims to improve the current status of sanitizing paths emitted by the compiler via the `--remap-path-prefix=FROM=TO` command line flag, by offering a profile setting named `trim-paths` in Cargo to sanitize absolute paths introduced during compilation that may be embedded in the compiled binary executable or library.

As part of that RFC the compiler was asked to add the `--remap-path-scope` command-line flag to control the scoping of how paths get remapped in the resulting binary.

### What is stabilized

The rustc `--remap-path-scope` flag is being stabilized by this PR. It defines which scopes of paths should be remapped by `--remap-path-prefix`.

This flag accepts a comma-separated list of values and may be specified multiple times, in which case the scopes are aggregated together.

The valid scopes are:

- `macro` - apply remappings to the expansion of `std::file!()` macro. This is where paths in embedded panic messages come from
- `diagnostics` - apply remappings to printed compiler diagnostics
- `debuginfo` - apply remappings to debug informations
- `coverage` - apply remappings to coverage informations
- `object` - apply remappings to all paths in compiled executables or libraries, but not elsewhere. Currently an alias for `macro,coverage,debuginfo`.
- `all` (default) - an alias for all of the above, also equivalent to supplying only `--remap-path-prefix` without `--remap-path-scope`.

#### Example

```sh
# With `object` scope only the build outputs will be remapped, the diagnostics won't be remapped.
rustc --remap-path-prefix=$(PWD)=/remapped --remap-path-scope=object main.rs
```

### What isn't stabilized

None of the Cargo facility is being stabilized in this stabilization PR, only the `--remap-path-scope` flag in `rustc` is being stabilized.

There are no unresolved questions regarding `--remap-path-scope`.

(The tracking issue list a bunch of unresolved questions but they are for `--remap-path-prefix` or the bigger picture `trim-paths` in Cargo and are not related the functionality provided by `--remap-path-scope`.)

### Post-RFC changes

The RFC described more scopes, in particularly regarding split debuginfo. Those scopes where removed after analysis by `michaelwoerister` of all the possible combinations in https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/111540#issuecomment-1994010274.

### Nightly extensions

There are no nightly extensions.

### Doors closed

We are committing to having to having a flag that control which paths are being remapped based on a "scope".

No call for testing has been done per se but feedback has been received on both the rust-lang/rust and rust-lang/cargo tracking issue.

The feedback was mainly related to deficiencies in *our best-effort* `--remap-path-prefix` implementation, in particular regarding linkers added paths, which does not change anything for `--remap-path-scope`.

Allow invoking all help options at once

Implements rust-lang/rust#150442

Help messages are printed in the order they are invoked, but only once (e.g. `--help -C help --help` prints regular help then codegen help).

Lint groups (`-Whelp`) are always printed last due to necessarily coming later in the compiler pipeline.

Adds `help` flags to `-C` and `-Z` to avoid an error in `build_session_options`.

Destabilise `target-spec-json`

Per rust-lang/compiler-team#944:

> Per https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/71009, the ability to load target spec JSONs was stabilised accidentally. Within the team, we've always considered the format to be unstable and have changed it freely. This has been feasible as custom targets can only be used with core, like any other target, and so custom targets de-facto require nightly to be used (i.e. to build core manually or use Cargo's -Zbuild-std).

Stumbled upon a weird (bug ?) behaviour while making this PR

it seems like it is possible to reach `check_attr.rs` checks without the attribute allowed target checks having already been finished, I added a comment about how to reproduce this in `check_attr.rs`

otherwise good to note is that a bunch of code was moved from `compiler/rustc_hir_analysis/src/collect.rs` to `check_attr.rs`

Use annotate-snippet as default emitter on stable

This is implementation of https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/149932

Now, after MCP was accepted, we can use annotate-snippet as default emitter for errors, that means that we not longer need of previous emitter, so this PR removed previous emitter and makes annotate-snippet new default one both on stable and nightly

(this PR does not remove a code of previous emitter it just removes a `Default` option of `HumanReadableErrorType` enum, and keeping only `HumanReadableErrorType::AnnotateSnippet` as it now uses by default)

Don't leak sysroot crates through dependencies

Previously if a dependency of the current crate depended on a sysroot crate, then `extern crate` would in the current crate would pick the first loaded version of said sysroot crate even in case of an ambiguity. This is surprising and brittle. For `-Ldependency=` we already blocked this since rust-lang/rust#110229, but the fix didn't account for sysroot crates.

d0d8258886 Stabilize -Zremap-path-scope as --remap-path-scope
In the process also document that new `--remap-path-scope` scopes may be
added in the future, and that the `all` scope always represent all the
scopes.

8cbfb26383 Overhaul filename handling for cross-compiler consistency
This commit refactors `SourceMap` and most importantly `RealFileName` to
make it self-contained in order to achieve cross-compiler consistency.

This is achieved:
 - by making `RealFileName` immutable
 - by only having `SourceMap::to_real_filename` create `RealFileName`
 - by also making `RealFileName` holds it's working directory,
   it's embeddable name and the remapped scopes
 - by making most `FileName` and `RealFileName` methods take a scope as
   an argument

In order for `SourceMap::to_real_filename` to know which scopes to apply
`FilePathMapping` now takes the current remapping scopes to apply, which
makes `FileNameDisplayPreference` and company useless and are removed.

The scopes type `RemapPathScopeComponents` was moved from
`rustc_session::config` to `rustc_span`.

The previous system for scoping the local/remapped filenames
`RemapFileNameExt::for_scope` is no longer useful as it's replaced by
methods on `FileName` and `RealFileName`.

Remove -Zoom=panic

There are major questions remaining about the reentrancy that this allows. It doesn't have any users on github outside of a single project that uses it in a panic=abort project to show backtraces. It can still be emulated through `#[alloc_error_handler]` or `set_alloc_error_hook` depending on if you use the standard library or not. And finally it makes it harder to do various improvements to the allocator shim.

With this PR the sole remaining symbol in the allocator shim that is not effectively emulating weak symbols is the symbol that prevents skipping the allocator shim on stable even when it would otherwise be empty because libstd + `#[global_allocator]` is used.

Move attribute lints to `rustc_lint`

This PR changes two things:
- This decouples the `AttributeLintKind` from the `Lint` it is emitted in. `cx.emit_lint` now takes both as an argument, rather than inferring the `Lint` from the `AttributeLintKind`. This is nice because:
  - It allows us to remove `AttributeLintKind::InvalidMacroExportArguments`
  - It allows us to move the choice between `USELESS_DEPRECATED` and `UNUSED_ATTRIBUTES` out of the lint emitting code
  - It allows the next change:
- This moves `AttributeLintKind` to `rustc_lint_defs`, and the decorating code to `rustc_lint`. This is nice because:
  - It allows attribute lint decorating code to access the TypeCtxt, which unblocks https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/149215
  - It might allow most early buffered attribute lints to become dyn lint diagnostics in the future, as in https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/147634
  - It deduplicates `IllFormedAttributeInput`

This PR does not change observable output of the compiler, as can be seen by no uitests being affected.

84ff44c749 Add perma-unstable --print=backend-has-zstd for use by compiletest
Tests for `-Zdebuginfo-compression=zstd` need to be skipped if LLVM was built
without support for zstd compression.

Currently, compiletest relies on messy and fragile heuristics to detect whether
the compiler's LLVM was built with zstd support. But the compiler itself
already knows whether LLVM has zstd or not, so it's easier for compiletest to
just ask the compiler.
