5b0223e8c6 Reword rustc_on_unimplemented errors for Iterator
- Detect one element array of `Range` type, which is potentially a typo:
   `for _ in [0..10] {}` where iterating between `0` and `10` was intended.
   (#23141)
 - Suggest `.bytes()` and `.chars()` for `String`.
 - Suggest borrowing or `.iter()` on arrays (#36391)
 - Suggest using range literal when iterating on integers (#34353)
 - Do not suggest `.iter()` by default (#50773, #46806)

0e07c4281c Auto merge of #54762 - RalfJung:miri-validate, r=oli-obk
Prepare miri engine for enforcing validity invariant during execution

In particular, make recursive checking of references optional, and add a `const_mode` parameter that says whether `usize` is allowed to contain a pointer. Also refactor validation a bit to be type-driven at the "leafs" (primitive types), and separately validate scalar layout to catch `NonNull` violations (which it did not properly validate before).

[NLL] Improve closure region bound errors

Previously, we would report free region errors that originate from closure with the span of the closure and a "closure body requires ..." message. This is now updated to use a reason and span from inside the closure.

NLL: temps in block tail expression diagnostic

This change adds a diagnostic that explains when temporaries in a block tail expression live longer than block local variables that they borrow, and attempts to suggest turning the tail expresion into a statement (either by adding a semicolon at the end, when its result value is clearly unused, or by introducing a `let`-binding for the result value and then returning that).

Rollup merge of #54680 - RalfJung:compile-pass, r=pnkfelix
make run-pass tests with empty main just compile-pass tests

Many run-pass tests have an empty main, so there is not actually any point in running them. This makes them `compile-pass` tests instead, saving some time (generating the binary and then running it).

For now I did this only for `run-pass/issues`; if there is interest I can also do it for the other directories. I used `^\s*fn\s+main\(\s*\)\s*\{\s*\}` as regexp to identify these files.

do not normalize all non-scalar constants to a ConstValue::ScalarPair

We still need `ConstValue::ScalarPair` for match handling (matching slices and strings), but that will never see anything `Undef`. For non-fat-ptr `ScalarPair`, just point to the allocation like larger data structures do.

b2e0215a1f apply process_registered_region_obligations at the end of regionck
We used to apply it repeatedly as we went, relying on the current
value of the `region_bound_pairs_accum` vector. But now we save those
values into a map, so we can just process all the registered region
obligations at the end.

Only annotate if borrow is returned.
Error now correctly checks whether the borrow that does not live
long enough is being returned before annotating the error with the
arguments and return type from the signature - as this would not be
relevant if the borrow was not being returned.

Added note about dangling references.
This error can only occur within a function when a borrow of data owned
within the function is returned; and when there are arguments that could
have been returned instead. Therefore, it is always applicable to add a
specific note that links to the relevant rust documentation about
dangling references.

[NLL] Record more infomation on free region constraints in typeck

Changes:

* Makes the span of the MIR return place point to the return type
* Don't try to use a path to a type alias as a path to the adt it aliases (fixes an ICE)
* Don't claim that `self` is declared outside of the function. [see this test](f2995d5b1a (diff-0c9e6b1b204f42129b481df9ce459d44))
* Remove boring/interesting distinction and instead add a `ConstraintCategory` to the constraint.
* Add categories for implicit `Sized` and `Copy` requirements, for closure bounds, for user type annotations and `impl Trait`.
* Don't use the span of the first statement for Locations::All bounds (even if it happens to work on the tests we have)

Future work:

* Fine tuning the heuristic used to choose the place the report the error.
* Reporting multiple places (behind a flag)
* Better closure bounds reporting. This probably requires some discussion.
