test: remove extraneous #[allow(clippy::uninlined_format_args)]
...
These were probably added automatically to avoid code churn. I'd like to
get rid of them bit by bit, so here's the first bit

Do not specialize for if_chain any longer
...
Now that `if let` chains have been introduced, the `if_chain` external
crate is no longer necessary. Dropping special support for it also
alleviates the need to keep the crate as a dependency in tests.
