Andre Bogus 06235b0310 refactored misc to reduce passes 
related to #1062

Before: 960MB After: 956MB

So while this reduces code size somewhat, I don't see much memory
improvement here. Still, it's probably worthwile to consider reducing
our passes at least within modules.
